What You'll Do

  • Safety is E2 Optics' number one Core Value. All employees are expected to follow safe work practices, as well as adhere to company and client worksite safety policies and procedures.
  • Assisting the project team with installation activities as needed.
  • Lead daily OSP construction activities including duct proofing, MaxCell installation, fiber placement, vault work, and pathway preparation, air blown fiber.
  • Supervise internal crews and subcontractors performing placement, splicing, and testing operations
  • Interpret construction drawings, splice matrices, pull plans, and specifications
  • Ensure proper installation methods for high-count fiber systems (e.g., ribbon fiber, long-haul backbone routes, campus pathways)
  • Coordinate vault access, traffic control, and controlled access zones (CAZ)
  • Conduct daily job hazard analyses and pre-task planning meetings
  • Verify compliance with confined space procedures and atmospheric monitoring requirements
  • Ensure proper use of PPE, trench protection, and vault safety equipment
  • Partner with Safety to maintain documentation and compliance reporting
  • Execute work in alignment with project schedule milestones
  • Identify risks to schedule and implement mitigation strategies
  • Coordinate crew sequencing for duct prep, fiber placement, and testing readiness
  • Support pull planning for long-distance underground fiber routes
  • Ensure installation meets customer specifications and industry standards (ANSI, TIA, BICSI, and project-specific requirements)
  • Verify proper cable handling, bend radius control, and tension management
  • Support reel testing, placement documentation, and as-built verification
  • Coordinate inspection readiness with customers and general contractors
  • Direct subcontractor daily activities and verify scope completion
  • Validate manpower levels meet project requirements
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with site onboarding and safety expectations
  • Review progress against production targets
  • Coordinate use of specialized OSP equipment including reel trailers, fiber optic tuggers, capstans, quadrant blocks, and duct mapping systems
  • Ensure proper staging of materials and reels prior to placement activities
  • Support tracking of company-owned OSP equipment across projects
  • Maintain readiness of testing platforms and placement tools
  • Maintain daily field reports and production tracking logs
  • Provide progress updates to project management and program leadership
  • Support development of as-built documentation packages
  • Track installation quantities for forecasting and billing alignment
  • Interface with project managers, construction managers, safety teams, and customer representatives
  • Support scheduling of inspections, testing windows, and pathway access
  • Coordinate with splicing and testing teams to maintain workflow continuity
  • Participate in planning meetings and pull plan reviews
  • The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2 Optics.

What We Are Looking For

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience supervising OSP construction projects
  • Experience with underground duct systems and high-count fiber placement
  • Demonstrated leadership of field crews and subcontractors
  • Demonstrated leadership of field crews and subcontractors
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, splice records, and pull plans
  • Familiarity with fiber installation best practices and testing workflows
  • Strong knowledge of jobsite safety requirements and confined space procedures
  • Experience supporting hyperscale or data center campus OSP deployments
  • Familiarity with ribbon fiber placement (48ct through 6912ct systems)
  • Experience coordinating OTDR and OLTS testing activities
  • Knowledge of MaxCell and microduct installation methods
  • Proficiency with tuggers, capstan, air blown fiber

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. Must be able to operate equipment such as scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and UTVs (buggies) if required to do so. The employee may also be required to work in tight, confined spaces.
