What You'll Do

  • Safety is E2 Optics' number one Core Value. All employees are expected to follow safe work practices, as well as adhere to company and client worksite safety policies and procedures. 
  • Assisting the project team with installation activities as needed.
    Install underground fiber optic cable in duct banks, vault systems, and campus pathways using approved pulling methods
  • Assist with placement of high-count fiber cables including ribbon fiber (48ct through 6912ct)
  • Install MaxCell, microduct, mule tape, in existing conduit systems
  • Set up reel trailers, capstans, quadrant blocks, and pulling equipment
  • Support duct proofing operations including mandrel testing, rodding, and route verification
  • Prepare vaults and handholes for cable placement including setup of controlled access zones
  • Assist with cable handling activities including figure-8 staging and railroad placement methods
  • Perform cable labeling, documentation, and route tracking per project standards
  • Support fiber splicing crews with cable preparation and rack staging activities
  • Assist testing teams with OTDR, OLTS, and continuity testing setup when required
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized fiber installation equipment safely
  • Maintain accurate daily reports including production quantities and safety documentation
  • Follow all customer, GC, and company installation standards
  • Maintain housekeeping and protection of installed infrastructure
  • Follow all company and site-specific safety requirements
  • Support confined space entry operations when qualified
  • Assist with atmospheric testing setup and vault ventilation procedures
  • Maintain controlled access zones around open vaults and pulling operations
  • Participate in daily Job Hazard Analysis and Pre-Task Planning meetings
  • Inspect tools and equipment prior to use
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions or incidents
  • The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2 Optics.

What We Are Looking For

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience working in outside plant fiber installation environments preferred
  • Understanding of underground duct systems and vault construction practices
  • Ability to assist with installation of large-count fiber optic cables
  • Familiarity with MaxCell installation, micro duct, air blown practices preferred

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. Must be able to operate equipment such as scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and UTVs (buggies) if required to do so. The employee may also be required to work in tight, confined spaces.
