What You'll Do

  • Consistently follow and enforce safe work practices, adhering to company and client policies
  • Champion safety initiatives across the warehouse and job sites, ensuring adherence to PPE and safety protocols
  • Efficiently manage the loading, unloading, and transportation of materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment
  • Perform inventory cycle counts and update inventory management systems with accuracy
  • Assist in managing the fleet of warehouse and logistics equipment (e.g., forklifts, trailers)
  • Track and manage inventory to ensure accurate counts and availability
  • Coordinate with the logistics team to fulfill material requests, anticipate shortages, and reorder supplies as needed
  • Support the development of inventory metrics and reporting for continuous improvement
  • Oversee the receipt, inspection, and storage of materials, verifying that orders are correct and meet specifications
  • Ensure timely and accurate shipment of materials, including packaging, labeling, and documentation
  • Reconcile packing slips with purchase orders, working closely with the Logistics Coordinator for inventory and material accuracy
  • Mentor and lead warehouse staff, ensuring tasks are completed effectively and efficiently
  • Assist the Logistics Coordinator in training new team members and improving warehouse procedures
  • Act as a role model for junior staff, demonstrating strong work ethic, organization, and leadership
  • Actively participate in process improvement efforts to increase operational efficiency
  • Provide input on materials handling best practices and warehouse organization strategies
  • Collaborate with the Logistics Coordinator to implement Lean principles and cost-saving strategies
  • Assist the Logistics Coordinator in gathering and maintaining data for logistics reports, including inventory levels, shipping metrics, and equipment usage
  • Develop a working understanding of logistics software systems and processes to assist with materials flow optimization
  • Work closely with the Logistics Coordinator to support job site material logistics, ensuring that all materials are delivered on time and in good condition
  • Act as the point of contact for material requests and provide solutions to logistics challenges on-site
  • The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2 Optics

What We Are Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Additional Training in supply chain or logistics is a plus
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in materials handling, warehouse operation, or logistics
  • Demonstrated ability to lead small teams or projects
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic logistics software
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support logistics across various job site
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface directly with clients
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and mitigate potential logistical issues
  • Self-motivated with excellent time-management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. Must be able to operate equipment such as scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and UTVs (buggies) if required to do so. The employee may also be required to work in tight, confined spaces.
